StepOne Systems Releases SVTP-CE VT220 Emulation with Custom Functionality for Symbol WT4070/WT4090
StepOne brings SVTP capabilities to Windows CE
PITTSBURGH, PA – November 3, 2006 – StepOne Systems announced today the release of the SVTP-CE VT220 Terminal Emulation program for Symbol WT4070 and WT4090 wearable terminals. This release provides support for existing Symbol customers using the DOS based SVTP terminal emulator to run their current applications on the Windows CE platform.
In the 1990s the Symbol VT200 Program (SVTP) was the standard VT220 Terminal Emulator for Symbol DOS mobile units. In addition to the standard VT220 commands, SVTP provided vendor specific extensions to support Symbol barcode scanning, wireless LAN, and mobile specific functionality.
With the introduction of StepOne's SVTP-CE, Symbol's existing SVTP customers can seamlessly deploy Symbol's Windows CE terminals within their enterprise without any changes to their host servers. This allows StepOne's customers to easily invest in next generation mobile technology, while maintaining their existing mobile applications.
