StepOne Systems Releases Shopping Experience Applications (SEAs)

Making Shopping Faster – Easier – and More Enjoyable

PITTSBURGH, PA – January 10, 2007 – StepOne Systems announced today the introduction of its next generation Shopping Experience Applications. Designed to put enterprise information into the hands of its sales personnel – as well as consumers - retailers now have software tools to maximize sales personnel productivity and customer satisfaction.

StepOne Systems provides the software and services needed to ensure that employees in the retail store, customer service and customer delivery sectors have direct, seamless access to enterprise information to significantly improve the customer’s experience. With its comprehensive offering of software products and services, and a track record of success, StepOne Systems stands ready to help retailers leverage emerging technologies into new customer experiences.

“Retailers have told us that they expect technology to help improve the ‘shopping experience’,” says Todd Berner, president of StepOne Systems. “With retailer expectations in mind, StepOne developed our next-generation SEA applications: Product Locator, Mobile Escorted Registry and Queue-Busting applications.

“StepOne’s Product Locator lets sales personnel focus on customer service and satisfaction while delegating retrieval and re-stocking tasks to non-sales personnel,” explains Mr. Berner. “Rather than spend time away from the shopper searching for the requested product, StepOne’s Product Locator assigns inventory search, retrieval and replenishment to non-sales personnel, both at the local store and beyond, which maximizes productivity and revenues. With sales personnel spending more time selling and customers getting the product they want quickly, both revenues and customer satisfaction skyrocket.”

“StepOne’s Mobile Escorted Registry reminds your customers what products the recipient really wants – in real time while shopping in your stores,” continues Mr. Berner. “Our Mobile Escorted Registry enables its users to maintain a graphical, retailer-specific, perpetual ‘wish list’ and enables gift buyers to accurately purchase from that list. This dramatically increases the loyalty of both list owner and the list buyer.”

“StepOne’s Queue-Busting solution speeds the checkout by letting store personnel scan products while customers wait in line. “ The last in-store experience is almost always frustrating: waiting to leave “claims Mr. Berner. “StepOne’s Queue-Busting application will make checkout faster – and will leave the customer with a positive impression of the store.

“These applications are easy for retailers to integrate into their existing store systems,” says John Huffman, StepOne’s chief technologist. “Modular in design and built on StepOne’s flexible snapRETAIL architecture, SEA applications give retailers a fast-track choice to make the shopping experience more enjoyable and profitable.”

“These applications are just the beginning, “adds Mr. Berner. “Our plans include extending the SEA product line throughout 2007, giving retailers the information tools they need to better serve their customers – and build their business.”

StepOne Systems will be demonstrating its Shopping Experience Applications at the 2007 National Retail Federation (NRF) Conference from January 14 through January 16, 2007. Visit StepOne Systems at NRF in the Symbol Technologies Booth and the XO7 Technology Expo.
