SNAP Price Checker Emulator (PCKE)
The SNAP PCK Emulator allows existing Symbol and Motorola customers to run their existing PCK 9100, MK1000, MK1100, and MK2000 Price Checker applications on the Motorola MK500 micro kiosk terminal.
The Symbol PCK 9100 Price Checker terminal was introduced in 1996 and revolutionized the way retailers handled their pricing. Customers could now simply walk up to a PCK 9100, scan the product's barcode, and instantly receive the current price for the item. This became a common solution in stores around the world and made it possible for retailers to comply with the many laws enacted around accurate pricing.
When the PCK 9100 terminal was replaced with the Motorola MK1100 and MK2000 terminals, Symbol supplied a PCK Emulator to provide a migration path for existing PCK 9100 customers. This product also included several enhancements to further extend the Price Checker with additional graphics support.
With the introduction of the Motorola MK500 Micro Kiosk, Motorola has discontinued their PCK Emulator software and has asked StepOne to provide this support for their customers. This has lead to the recent introduction of the SNAP PCK Emulator which provides a migration path for existing PCK9100, MK1100, and MK2000 customers.
